Dunedin needs trained construction workers. These programmes aim to put you in the best position for employment within the construction sector, involved with the rebuilding of many sites around town including the new Dunedin hospital.
Programme: Building Construction & Allied Trade for NZCFS (L1)Maintain personal safety while completing basic BCAT Project —Identify and use common building and construction materials in a workshop - Follow simple plans to identify required materials and the sequence of tasks needed to complete basic BCAT projects - Communicate and comply with instructions in a workshop — Perform simple measurements and calculations to complete basic BCAT projects in a workshop— Identify, use, and care for a range of hand tools and equipment needed for basic BCAT Projects - Hardware and fastenings - Joints for BCAT projects - Listening techniques - Note taking & form filling (e.g. Incident reports) - BCAT processes and procedures - Spreadsheets for BCAT - Schematic diagrams for BCAT.

Qualifications in ProgrammeNCEA Level 1 & NCEA (Level 2)New Zealand Certificate in Retail (Level 2)This programme includes within it competencies equivalent to those which would be expected of a NZ Certificate in Hospitality (Level 2) graduate working in a cafe context.

Programme: Childcare (Level 2)If this pathway is selected then NCEA Level 2 can be achieved by meeting the additional literacy and numeracy requirements.

This programmes can be enrolled directly or preceded by Step Up, Step Out (Level 1).
