- Education Code of Practice
VSTET has agreed to commit to the requirements of the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, also referred to ‘The Code of Practice’. This code is administered by the Minister of Education and published on the NZQA website.
The purpose of the Code of Practice requires providers to:
*Take all reasonable steps to maintain the wellbeing of domestic tertiary students and to protect international students.
*Ensure as far as possible that domestic tertiary students and international students have a positive experience which supports their education achievement.
The Code of Practice requires providers to have strategies for hearing and responding to 'learner voice' to support learner needs. The Code of Practice also has a process for learners to follow if they wish to make a complaint about treatment by their education provider.
Please ask at the office if you would like to see VSTET’s current self-review of Code of Practice support practices.
