Construction Skills for Youth (Level 2)
Qualification Awarded Upon Successful Completion
New Zealand Certificate of Achievement (Level 2) & New Zealand Certificate in Building, Construction and Allied Trades (Level 2).
Future pathways
EmploymentA graduate of this programme will be sufficiently skilled for entry level positions in the Building, Construction and Allied trades industry.
Further Study
Holders of this qualification will be able to progress to study or training at NZQF Level 3, or to other specialised qualifications at higher levels.
Graduate Outcomes
Graduates from this programme will have an increased skills and knowledge in the construction Industry Sector. Graduates will have essential skills and knowledge which may assist with future employment in the Building Construction and Allied trades context. The literacy and numeracy skills integrated throughout the programme will provide the graduate with the skills and a range of strategies to organise, interpret, and communicate information more effectively in their personal life and in their place of employment. This programme will provide the graduate with the foundations to be able to make choices for improving their education and employment pathways.The successful graduate will, in summary, be able to:

  • Interpret and use project documentation
  • Communicate effectively
  • Carry out minor construction projects.
